While visiting Madison, Indiana, went to the Schroeder Saddletree Factory Museum. It was a Fri afternoon and we were the first visitors of the mean solar day. A bout guide first gave us an orientation almost the saddletree and its significance in the development of midwestern and western U.S. Then, he showed united states diverse styles of saddletrees. Finally, he took u.s.a. on a tour of the grounds and factory. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the facility and its history. The History Center is the home of the Jefferson Canton Historical Social club in Madison, Indiana. The campus includes the main edifice with museum, souvenir shop and research library; the 1895 original train station; and the renovated caboose.
